2008 One Lap of America Makes Pit Stop at Design Engineering
Avon Lake, Ohio
On May 9 nearly 70 race-ready street-legal vehicles rolled into Design Engineering and an estimated 300 local spectators turned out to meet and greet this years One Lap of America™ drivers and witness their impressive cars.
From BMW’s to Porsches, from Corvettes to Vipers, a 2008 economy minded Smart car, a 400hp Honda Odyssey van and even a sneaky-fast ’46 Plymouth linked to a LS1 Magna Charger supercharged motor competed this year and drew lot’s of attention at DEI’s facility.
DEI was honored to co-sponsor this, the 25th anniversary of the One Lap of America, and invite Brock Yates and One Lap teams. The drivers had just completed 4,000 miles of driving and competed at eight different race courses in eight days. The DEI “pit stop” was a welcome sight to the drivers and offered a relaxing time to enjoy food, beverages and exchange the weeks events with other drivers and guests.
